BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE



William Frank Kuehn was born on June 13, 1918, in Hastings, Nebraska. Educated in Hastings and Grand Island, he worked odd jobs in the year after he graduated from high school. In April of 1936 he secured a job with the Civilian Conservation Corps, first as a laborer, then a surveyor, and finally a company clerk. This employment took him from Fullerton and Hartington in Nebraska to Presho and Roubaix, South Dakota, until March of 1939. Mr. Kuehn died in Kansas City, Missouri on March 29, 2007.



SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE



This collection consists of papers of William Frank Kuehn, mostly relating to his involvement in the Civilian Conservation Corps in Nebraska and South Dakota. Included are photocopies of a diary (November 10, 1938 – February 8, 1939), newspaper articles, and Civilian Conservation Corps documents, a journal, Civilian Conservation Corps publications, miscellaneous materials, and a short autobiography.
