BACKGROUND NOTE



The West Lancaster County Sunday School Association – District 3 appears to have organized in July of 1894.  A constitution was developed in November of 1894 and voted on at a meeting on August 23, 1895.  The towns with Sunday Schools represented in the organization were Denton, Emerald, Pleasant Dale, Martell, Roca, Jamaica, and Yankee Hill.



SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE



This collection consists of three volumes of minute books of the West Lancaster County Sunday School Association – District 3, 1894-1901 and 1917-1947.  The minutes record activities of the officers and committees of the association, services held, topics of papers presented at the quarterly meetings, and points of discussion.  Also included are attendance numbers.
