BACKGROUND NOTE



The Trans-Mississippi and International Exposition of 1898 was planned to show the accomplishments of those west of the Mississippi River.  Over two and a half million people attended the four-month exposition in Omaha, Nebraska.



SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE



The manuscript portion of this collection includes an original souvenir ticket stub from the Exposition and a folder of information relating to the centennial celebration of the Exposition in 1998.  The photo component [RG2752.PH] contains images of the buildings, grounds and public events of the Exposition.
