SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE



The manuscript portion of the collection consists of four boxes (3.5 cu.ft.) of papers relating to Nellie Vance and her work with the University of Nebraska Extension Division. The bulk of the materials relate to her involvement with the Nebraska Traveling Art Galleries, the International Children’s Art Exhibits and the Annual All-State Elementary Art Exhibits. The collection includes correspondence, press releases and newspaper clippings, children’s artwork, pamphlets, brochures and other ephemera, mostly dating from the 1930s-1960s.  Also included is a scrapbook compiled by Nellie’s daughter, Sarah.



Note:  This collection is currently unprocessed.  No further inventory is available.



The photo component [RG6027.PH] consists of approximately 170 photographs relating to Nellie Vance and her work with the University of Nebraska Extension Division. The majority of the images (170 8×10 prints) relate to her involvement with the Nebraska Traveling Art Galleries and the International Children’s Art Exhibit. The collection also includes snapshots, family and personal photographs. The images date from the 1870s to the 1960s.
