BACKGROUND NOTE



Nelson E. and Ruby B. Hollingsworth were employees of the Cornhusker Ordnance Plant in Grand Island, Nebraska during 1943-1944. Mr. Hollingsworth was a line inspector and Mrs. Hollingsworth served as a guard matron.



SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE



This collection consists of one folder of manuscript material relating to the Cornhusker Ordnance Plant, 1943-1944. The collection is comprised of materials kept by Nelson E. and Ruby B. Hollingsworth during their employment at the plant during World War II. Included are letters, open house advertisements, training certification cards, and Mr. Hollingsworth’s procedural notebook.



Note:  Badges, a matchbook, a production medal, and a service ribbon have been transferred to the Nebraska History Museum. Not all items are on exhibit.
