Henry J. Lehn, the son of Otto and Lena Lund Lehn, was born in Omaha, Nebraska, on October 2, 1885. A short time later, the family moved to Elba, Howard County, Nebraska, where Lehn received his education in the public schools. On February 19, 1908, Henry Lehn married Miss Augusta Naprstek at St. Paul, Nebraska, and for the remainder of his life, Lehn farmed near Elba. The Lehns were to have four children, two sons and two daughters. Lehn was an active member of the Lutheran Church, and also served on the School Board of District 11 for many years. Henry J. Lehn died at Elba, Nebraska, on June 10, 1964, at the age of 78 years.
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE
This collection consists of one reel of microfilm containing two diaries of Henry J. Lehn, 1917-1958. The diaries contain entries relating to Lehn’s daily activities during the period, including farm and business records, and notations regarding the weather and family affairs. These diaries were loaned for microfilming in August of 1968.
