SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE



The collection consists of one letter dated March 17, 1854, written by Henry Booth, who was from Towanda, Pennsylvania, to his unnamed brother. Henry Booth gives a first-hand account of his attendance at a meeting in New York City on the Kansas-Nebraska Bill. John A. King and William Curtis Noyes are mentioned as having spoken at the meeting. Both King and Noyes were active New York politicians.
