BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE



Born August 15, 1836 at Jordan, New York, Erastus E. Brown served as Mayor of Lincoln, Nebraska, from 1872-1873.  He also served in the Nebraska State House of Representatives from 1879-1883.  He died August 15, 1908 in Lincoln and is buried at Wyuka Cemetery.



SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE



This collection contains miscellaneous business papers, 1871-1875, of Erastus E. Brown of Lincoln, Nebraska. Included are a bank book for Cobb & Sudduth’s Bank, some cancelled checks, and an 1880 promissory note signed by David Butler. Also in the collection are the original specifications for a two-story brick and frame stable and carriage house for Brown, done by Mendelssohn, Fisher & Lawrie, Architects, Omaha, Nebraska, April 23, 1890.
