Edward Weisenreder was born in 1835 at Baden, Germany. At the age of 20 he migrated to America and settled in Aspinwall, Nebraska, in 1863. Weisenreder entered into partnership in a mercantile business with Joseph Watton and was Postmaster at Aspinwall from 1866 to 1872. He was married on January 16, 1866, to Wilhelmina Rothenburger and they were to have three children, Adelia, Minnie and Frank. He is buried at Saint Joseph Cemetery at Broken Bow, Custer County, Nebraska.
