BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE



Born on August 19, 1855, D.L. Brace was a prominent pioneer citizen of Lincoln, Nebraska.  He was a real estate broker identified with early building enterprises of the city.  He died in Portland, Oregon, on June 30, 1929.  He was buried at Wyuka Cemetery in Lincoln, Nebraska.



SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE



The collection consists of a letter written by D.L. Brace of Lincoln, Nebraska, to Ira Lamb of Benkelman, Nebraska.   Dated November 21, 1888, Brace wants to exchange land in Lincoln, specifically lots in Block 58 of Lincoln Heights, for improved land in the Benkelman area.  In the letter he writes about the cash value of the land in Lincoln.
