BIOGRAPHICAL NOTE

David C. Pierson, a native of Hastings, Nebraska, graduated from Lincoln High School. He attended Dartmouth College and graduated from the Yale Law School in 1963. He returned to Lincoln, where he became known as one of the city’s leading land use attorneys and as a primary spokesman for developers, contractors, and real estate brokers.

Pierson, along with Clayton Yeutter, Doug Bereuter, Jim Hewitt, and many other young Republicans became known as one of Governor Norbert Tiemann’s group of “whiz kids.” He was the campaign manager for Tiemann’s successful campaign for governor in 1966. He also served as chairman of the Nebraska Republican State Convention platform committee in 1968 and was on Tiemann’s re-election team in 1970, a race Tiemann lost to J. James Exon.

David C. Pierson died at age 53 on July 5, 1989.
