SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE



This collection has miscellaneous papers relating to the Byrd and the Yeats families from Omaha, Nebraska, primarily concerning the Byrd Nurseries and the Gregg School of Commerce. Specific items include a booklet titled “Landscape Gardening: A book which points the way to more attractive home surroundings,” which was put out by the nursery; a brochure from the Gregg School of Commerce, where Beulah Byrd was the principal; a program for the Omaha College Club; and a letter of sympathy to Forrest and Mary Yeats on the death of Beulah in 1920.

The Nebraska History Museum holds the wedding gown worn by Mary Rich (Yeats) Byrd.  Not all items are on display.  Interested researchers must contact the Museum Collections department to set up an appointment.
