SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE



This collection consists of papers relating to the Barwick and Johnson families. The main family members represented includes Cynthia (Johnson) Barwick, Leonard Barwick, and Steven Barwick. Also included is information on the Roberts Family. Leonard Barwick was quarterback for the 1904 UNL football team. He married Cynthia Johnson in 1907. He worked as a tombstone salesman for a number of years and then went to work for McGraw-Hill as a Business Week field staff member in their Midwest Division. Steven Barwick, son of Leonard and Cynthia Barwick, was a professor of piano and music literature at Southern Illinois University in Carbondale, Ill.

Additional artifacts relating to the Barwick and Johnson families are held in the collections of the NSHS Nebraska History Museum. Not all artifacts are on display.
